Experts at the Lucerne Institute of
Psychological Research have found that your
brains may indeed be connected with your behind.
A study of 150 college student volunteers
found that following some swats on their seats their ability to
remember facts increased an average of 38 percent!
Students who were barely passing at the
time they agreed to submit to the spankings raised their grade
point averages dramatically after repeated blows to their buns.
"We found the adrenaline rates

psychologist Dr. Crispin Heinz.
"And the resulting endorphin used to

public opinion about disciplining children, following the
recent controversy over then-Nan Chiau High principal Ng Lee
Huat.

down the middle: 44 per cent supported him while an equal
proportion thought he was wrong in hitting the girl.
Mr Ng's sympathizers took
note that the student he hit had, in her 1½ years at the
school, been disciplined more than 20 times for truancy, being

TAIPING: It was a caning
that students of a school here will not easily forget.
"It's so frightening. I don't want to
be caned like that," said Amirul Hazwan Nor Azmi, a
plump-looking Year Five pupil yesterday.
Wardens from the nearby prison had earlier
demonstrated to the students of SK Taiping how whippings are
carried out on criminal offenders.
It was part of the school's
zero delinquency program, in the wake of increasing reports on
truancy and students' involvement with gangs.
Zailani told reporters that the
demonstration was merely to remind the pupils not to indulge in
crime.
Narander Singh said the
Taiping Prison had carried out about 20 demonstrations at
primary and secondary schools as well as a college so far this
year. He said the program started three years ago.
When there were no demonstrations, his
department would send a CD to be shown to the audience, he
added.
